Our Background

The original concept of Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures was born in March 1996 and started in Brisbane, Australia.  Since that time, there has been an ongoing commitment to the improvement and refinement of the exclusive range of quality products, processes and services that has enabled the business to successfully reach the point where it proudly stands today.

We, Cheryl and Trevor Riding, are the proprietors of  "Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures". We have three children, Aaron, Grant and Tegan. Cheryl works full time in the business, while Trevor works part time, and also holds a full time senior managerial position. We became owners of Twinkle Toes Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures in September 2000 after having joined as a franchisee of Brisbane Southside in October 1997. We have seen the level of contact with Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures Head Office and the business of our franchisees grow over this time, to confirm that Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures is a wonderful product that will continue to grow in popularity. Even after the thousands of sculptures that we have made, we still experience amazement at the different shapes and sizes and beauty of the little hand and feet moulds that we produce. The enjoyment of seeing the happiness and excitement on the part of the parents and relatives when they collect their products, continues to be especially gratifying.

Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures has displays in many major hospitals throughout Australia and New Zealand. This presence in hospitals started in 1996 when the Brisbane Mater Hospital kindly gave permission to place displays in and around their Maternity and New Life Centres.  Numerous other major hospitals throughout Australia and New Zealand have also agreed to place Twinkle Toes displays/brochures in their hospitals. We believe this is recognition of the wonderful service that we offer to parents. For allowing the placement of these displays, Twinkle Toes donates $5 to the hospital for each product sold through the hospital.  This commitment continues today and Twinkle Toes is proud to be part of a program to assist in the care of our children.  You will also find a Twinkle Toes brochure in the Bounty Bag that is distributed to all new mothers throughout Australia.  The Australian branch closest to you is easily contacted by simply telephoning 1300 78 11 55.

Another very special service is provided to the bereaved parents of stillborn and terminal babies. This is a very sensitive issue, but for those parents, their memories of their little ones are kept alive and wonderful and will stay with them for a very long time. This service is not performed by all franchises, but generally we are able to assist.

Over the years, the response has been positively overwhelming, so much so, that there is a large and growing network of franchises presently operating throughout Australia and New Zealand. We are confident that this network will continue to grow as will the popularity of the wonderful Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures product.

Unfortunately, we have noticed a number of copycat businesses commence in an endeavour to emulate the success of Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures. They have not been able to replicate the high quality and standards of Twinkle Toes, and parents are choosing to entrust their memories with the superior products of Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures.  Unfortunately copycat businesses are a fact of life so please be careful.  Twinkle Toes products are easily recognised by their seal of authenticity.

Formal recognition of Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures business achievements commenced in November 1998 in the 1998 Redlands Business Achievement Awards under the Franchising category where it was awarded the Judges Encouragement Award.

In December 1999, Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures was again successful in the 1999 Redlands Business Achievement Awards under the Home Based Business category. This time Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures was successful in taking out The Best Home Based Business of the Year for that year.

In addition, Twinkle Toes was successful in being the Business Award Winner at the inaugural Viva Brisbane celebrations in 2002.

In 1999, 2000 and 2001 the Twinkle Toes - Baby Hand & Feet Sculptures Brisbane Southside Franchise was nominated by the community and placed as one of the top six finalists for the Quest Newspapers Business Achiever's Awards.  In 2002, 2003 and 2004, we were successful in winning the Business Achiever's Award under the Readers' Choice Category and for winning on three (3) occasions Twinkle Toes was inducted in to the prestigious Hall of Fame. 

We are quite proud of these achievements and we feel that these awards are even more significant given that a home-based business can receive such recognition when competing against large commercial companies and organisations.
